Lead Digital Designer

Join Starbucks in Nashville, TN (onsite) as a Lead Digital Designer on the Partner Experience Design team. You will shape digital experiences used by Starbucks partners across stores and support organizations, helping teams deliver consistent, human-centered product interfaces at scale. The role partners with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to build and evolve design system capabilities and improve experiences for partners across North America.

What you’ll do

• Define the core elements of the Starbucks Retail Design System, including UX, visual, interaction, and motion components, plus documented behaviors and usage guidelines.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to support teams contributing to the design system, building internal knowledge and clarity on how to extend it.
• Use collaborative leadership to help drive adoption of the design system and support strong outcomes for stakeholders.
• Work within a product delivery team to understand partner experiences, with results intended to be used by every store partner in North America.
• Think in systems, connecting relationships across teams and experiences to enable scalable solutions.

What you bring

• 5+ years experience of UX design for digital products.
• 3+ years experience designing products using a design system.
• 1+ years experience overseeing the development or maintenance of a design system.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Self-starter who can work in an agile environment with other disciplines in quick design loops.
• Experience mentoring designers and providing actionable design feedback.
• Experience leading cross-team efforts and collaborating with engineering, design, and product management.
• Experience designing for iOS.
• Familiarity with relevant front-end technologies: HTML/CSS/JavaScript and their affordances and limitations.
• Solid communication skills, written and verbal, with experience aligning teams and stakeholders through persuasion and influence.
• Experience with design languages and human interface guidelines, familiar with frameworks, components, and patterns (ideally as both a designer and system creator).
• Comfort with ambiguity and solving ambitious problems through an agile, iterative approach.
• Strong interaction and visual design knowledge, with familiarity with information architecture.

Compensation

USD 119,200 - 194,400 per year.
