Job Description

Inadev is seeking a Junior UI/UX Designer to help design and implement user interfaces for a platform, with an emphasis on accessibility, usability, and high-quality front-end delivery. The role works closely with designers, HCD, and developers to translate research and design outputs into responsive experiences that meet federal standards.

Location and Schedule

Reston, VA (Hybrid) with an in-person schedule of 2 days in Reston, VA and client locations in the Washington, D.C. area as required.

Compensation

$70,000 - $80,000 per year

Role Summary

The UI/UX Developer designs and implements user interfaces by converting research and design materials into accessible, production-ready front-end experiences. Meeting federal usability expectations and Section 508 standards is a core part of the position, supported through collaboration across design and development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Implement responsive and accessible front-end interfaces for the platform
  • Translate wireframes and designs into production UI components
  • Ensure Section 508 / WCAG accessibility compliance
  • Build and maintain a reusable component/design system
  • Collaborate with HCD, product, and back-end developers
  • Conduct and support usability testing and iterate based on findings
  • Leverage AI-assisted tooling for UI development

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule (2 days in Reston, VA and as required at client locations in the Washington, D.C. area)
  • Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and self-start
  • Adaptable/flexible as priorities change
  • Enthusiasm for learning and constant improvement
  • Open to collaboration, feedback, and client requests
  • Enjoy working with a vibrant team
  • 3+ years of front-end / UI development experience
  • Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as React (or equivalent) and CSS
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards including Section 508 and WCAG
  • Experience collaborating with designers and back-end teams
