Founding Product Designer
Job Description
Vantheon is hiring a Founding Product Designer in Austin, TX to design key product surfaces for an AI research lab focused on how AI reshapes investing across economic classes.
Responsibilities
- Design a crisp, intuitive agent IDE that developers enjoy using
- Create and prototype performance reporting dashboards with integrated charts, graphs, and key metrics
- Build an onboarding flow that helps new users discover and adopt core features
- Design internal CMS/admin tools that feel delightful and remain practical
- Use AI coding tools to turn your designs into production-quality frontends
- Define subtle animations and micro-interactions that enhance product feel without slowing users down
- Collaborate with product and engineering to translate user needs into polished UI/UX solutions
- Build and maintain a design system and component library that scales across the product
Requirements
- 3-6+ years designing snappy, intuitive user experiences at scale
- Strong taste and evidence of designing complex dashboards, internal tools, or CMS-style interfaces
- Care for details most people skip
- Strong opinions on balancing aesthetics and functionality to improve engagement and satisfaction
- Experience using tools like Cursor, v0, or Claude to convert mockups into working, polished frontends
- Visual and interaction design fundamentals with a portfolio showing close attention to detail in information-dense UI (dashboards, CMS tools, or similar)
- Refined sense of motion design
- Comfort using Figma and design tools plus AI coding tools (Cursor, v0, Claude, or similar) to ship real interfaces
- Tailwind CSS and component libraries like Shadcn are a plus
- Judgment on when to push visual polish versus ship pragmatically
- Basic understanding of accessibility and responsive design
