Creative Director-Writer

NewSpring Church is seeking a Creative Director-Writer to lead the KidSpring preschool creative team onsite in Anderson, SC. In this full-time role (40 hours per week), you will shepherd the creative process from planning through approvals, supporting both team execution and high-quality preschool content across large group and small group experiences.

You will create preschool small group lessons and video scripts, produce and direct preschool video shoots, and coordinate content needs with Elementary teams. The role also includes managing schedules and deliverables through Wrike, ensuring projects move forward on time and within budget.

What You’ll Do

• Attend bi-weekly and team meetings with the Creative Director
• Lead and shepherd the Preschool Team (Illustrator, Animator-Illustrator, Filmmaker)
• Run weekly team meetings and bi-weekly meetings with the Preschool Team
• Manage Preschool creative workflow in Wrike, including setting and monitoring deadlines and facilitating feedback
• Write Preschool Large Group scripts (1 script per week of a series) and seek team feedback
• Lead Preschool Large Group read-thrus
• Produce and direct preschool video shoots, including casting, scheduling, costuming, set design, follow-up, and related coordination
• Maintain shoot budgets and allocate necessary expenses
• Manage voiceovers for Preschool videos
• Coordinate animation needs with the Elementary Creative Director
• Coordinate Small Group and Spring Zone planning with the Elementary Creative Director and Elementary Writer
• Write Preschool and Spring Zone small group lessons and all handouts, including activity and coloring sheets
• Create and maintain Preschool and Spring Zone Prep Lists and Shopping Lists while staying within budget
• Contribute Preschool information to the Series Notes document
• Ensure proper formatting for all Preschool and Spring Zone documents, and prepare PDFs for distribution
• Facilitate final approvals from the Creative Director and ensure final videos and documents are placed in the correct folders by deadlines
• Create series-specific environmental music playlists for preschool and nursery environments and contribute to the hallway playlist
• Cast vision for and lead the team in executing assigned projects such as non-series resources, podcast work, and curriculum updates
• Study kids programming to pursue mastery and grow writing knowledge and skills
• Volunteer in KidSpring on Sundays to gather feedback and occasionally travel to other campuses for a broader view of curriculum implementation

Schedule

• Sunday: 8:15am - 1pm + 2 hours remote
• Monday: 9am - 5pm
• Tuesday: 9am - 5pm
• Wednesday: 9am - 5pm
• Thursday: 9am - 5pm
