Computer Aided Design Technology and Digital Graphic Design Technology Instructor

TCAT-Crump is seeking a full-time CAD Technology Instructor (Correctional Program) to teach on-site at the Core Civic Correctional Facility in Clifton, Tennessee. This role supports the development and delivery of a progressive CAD course of study while coordinating assessment, student records, and ongoing connections with educational and industry partners.

Role summary

The instructor will develop a structured CAD curriculum, evaluate student progress, and maintain required academic documentation for the program. In addition, the position includes participation in recruitment, student placement and follow-up, and collaboration with institutions, business and industry contacts, and program advisory committees to strengthen employer alignment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aids, and keep materials updated to meet industry requirements.
• Administer assessments to evaluate student progress.
• Maintain student academic records and submit program reports, including grades, attendance, and discipline information.
• Conduct and/or attend meetings with educational institutions, business, and industry partners during day or evening hours to build working relationships with employers and program advisory committees.
• Support student recruitment and assist with student placement and student follow-up.
• Attend workshops and training programs to remain current in the CAD industry.
• Support student motivation, conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance while students are on the institution campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three years of recent employment experience in CAD, drafting, and/or technical drawing.
• Proficiency with CAD tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, and Additive Manufacturing layout programs.
• Preferred: experience in Architectural Drafting, Mechanical Drafting, Civil Drafting, and Structural Design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Evidence of good character, a mature attitude, and stable personality.
• Prior teaching experience or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and other areas as needed.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Working conditions

Compensation

USD 51,149 - 61,379 per year, commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
