Responsibilities

  • Shape böhme’s visual identity across channels, including art direction, photography style, typography, color, and tone
  • Lead seasonal campaign concepting from mood boards to final delivery, collaborating with merchandising and marketing on the story behind each drop
  • Art direct on figure, on-model, and lifestyle shoots; manage casting, location scouting, styling direction, and on-set calls
  • Manage and mentor an in-house creative team of designers, photographers, retouchers, and content producers; provide clear, constructive feedback to elevate work
  • Own the creative review process from briefs to final approvals, ensuring every deliverable meets brand standards
  • Collaborate with ecommerce and performance marketing to design conversion-focused assets including PDPs, landing pages, email flows, and paid social creative
  • Partner with the retail team on in-store visuals, signage, window concepts, and new store openings to align digital and physical experiences
  • Stay ahead of trends in fashion, photography, social content, and digital design; bring fresh references and perspectives to the work
  • Manage external partners such as photographers, agencies, freelancers, and print vendors, including sourcing, contracts, budgets, and timelines
  • Help define and steward brand guidelines to maintain consistency as the team and channel mix grow

Requirements

  • 7+ years of design and art direction experience, with 2–3 years leading a creative team; ideally for a fashion, lifestyle, or DTC brand
  • A portfolio with strong fashion sensibility: editorial photo direction, refined typography, cohesive layouts, and multi-channel campaigns
  • Deep experience art directing photo and video shoots from pre-production through delivery
  • Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma; comfort with Premiere or After Effects or working closely with motion designers
  • Working understanding of ecommerce and performance creative; know what makes a hero image stop a scroll and what drives PDP conversion
  • Strong project management instincts; capable of running multiple campaigns across channels and deadlines while maintaining quality
  • Excellent communication and feedback skills; able to articulate why something works or doesn’t and bring teammates along with the vision
  • Genuine interest in women’s fashion, retail, and böhme customers
