Responsibilities
- Direct comprehensive UX design efforts, including research, information architecture, and evaluation of existing systems.
- Oversee planning, design, and deployment of multiple sites and applications across several clients in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead all stages of user research and analysis to inform highly usable web pages, interfaces, and dynamic solutions.
- Collaborate with federal practice engineers and clients to define and implement innovative, visually engaging, and intuitive solutions for government users and stakeholders.
- Develop wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction concepts for websites and applications.
- Create scalable design resources to support project collaboration and the expansion of ECS creative services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Strong UX design experience
- 10+ years of combined professional design experience (UCD, UI/UX design)
- Robust online portfolio demonstrating research-driven design decisions for responsive web and mobile applications
- Results-oriented problem solver with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and excellence
- Expertise in user research methodologies, user-centered design principles and frameworks, and UI design standards
- Advanced understanding of personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and related research tools
- Solid grasp of the website development life cycle (discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, user testing and evaluation)
- Experience assessing existing systems to identify UX issues and develop recommendations
- Experience designing web and mobile applications that comply with 508 and USWDS standards
- Ability to prioritize features aligning user goals with business requirements
- Experience delivering designs from wireframes to final high-fidelity UI mockups
- Ability to establish rapid feedback loops with customers to inform design at critical stages
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven success on greenfield projects as well as redesigns of established platforms
- Experience mentoring or leading junior designers
- Advanced coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
