Website UI/UX Designer
Job Description
Tools for Humanity seeks a Website UI/UX Designer to develop high-traffic websites and digital experiences across the World brands, prioritizing web interfaces (roughly 90%) with some product work (about 10%). The role involves close collaboration with marketing, content, brand, and development teams and is an onsite position in San Francisco, requiring a minimum of four days in the office per week.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve multiple high-traffic websites across the World, World Foundation, and Tools for Humanity brands, handling UI/UX and interaction design end to end.
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that deliver clear, intuitive, and engaging web experiences.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, content, and brand teams to translate messaging into effective user journeys and digital experiences.
- Partner with developers to bring designs to life from concept through handoff to QA, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and high performance.
- Apply strong UX thinking to simplify complex concepts such as identity, crypto, and AI into approachable, human-centered interfaces.
- Contribute to design systems and patterns that ensure consistency and scalability across web and, occasionally, product surfaces.
- Use data and insights from analytics, user behavior, and A/B testing to iterate on designs and continuously improve performance and usability.
- Ensure all work meets a high craft standard, balancing visual design, interaction quality, and usability across every touchpoint.
- Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, moving quickly from concept to launch while maintaining attention to detail.
- Help define and evolve how UI/UX design operates within the marketing department, bringing structure, taste, and speed to an emerging design practice.
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of website UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing both strategic thinking and high-quality execution.
- Proven experience designing high-traffic websites, with a deep understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns, and usability best practices.
- Strong visual design skills with a high craft standard, focusing on typography, layout, spacing, and interaction details.
- Experience working across both marketing and product surfaces, with the ability to flex between brand expression and functional UX.
- Expert in Figma and modern AI-assisted design workflows, including rapid prototyping, design system generation, content generation, and Figma-to-code pipelines.
- Be a passionate self-starter with an afterburner on approach, ready to jump in, solve problems and push projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
- Extremely comfortable collaborating with developers and understanding technical constraints to ensure smooth implementation.
- Data-first mindset, with experience using analytics and user insights to guide design decisions.
- Highly organized, resourceful and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Radical end-to-end ownership: take initiative, drive progress and get things done.
- You possess US work authorization and are excited about a collaborative, in-office role in San Francisco’s design district.
- Occasional travel to the field and quarterly offsites.
- Bonus skills (any of the following are valued but not required): mobile UI/UX design, product design, motion design, front-end development (HTML/CSS), SEO.
