Job Description
Guidehouse is seeking a Website and Graphic Design Lead to support a Department of State client within the Human-Centered Design (HCD) team. This onsite role centers on human-centered design practices, content strategy, and structured workflows to improve the clarity, usability, and impact of web and multimedia deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert complex technical information into accessible, visually compelling deliverables such as infographics, reports, presentations, and multimedia, designed for both general audiences and internal federal stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain standardized visual frameworks, templates, and identity systems to support consistency across communications.
- Use human-centered design methodologies to enhance clarity, discoverability, and usability of web and multimedia products.
- Manage and update web content through structured workflows to support accuracy, accessibility (including Section 508), and alignment with stakeholder needs.
- Track user engagement metrics (time on site, downloads, open rates, and video views) and apply findings to inform design and content decisions.
- Review performance trends and recommend iterative improvements to increase effectiveness and impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design and content strategies and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent design efforts, managing intake through delivery with structured project management approaches to meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback to refine designs and multimedia assets for clarity, usability, and mission alignment.
- Propose improvements to streamline design processes and improve scalability through better tools, templates, and standards.
Requirements
- ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of experience in graphic design
Technologies
- Adobe Creative Suite
Nice to Have
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Portfolio demonstrating the range of design capabilities
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with the Department of State
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams or within large organizations
