Job Description
Design and optimize responsive WordPress experiences while advancing technical SEO, experimentation, and brand consistency.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain responsive landing pages and web content for assigned brand areas in WordPress using best practices for usability, accessibility, and performance
- Use the organization’s shared design system/component library to keep visual and functional consistency across the site
- Implement pages and features that meet performance budgets and Core Web Vitals standards
- Ensure new pages and features are properly instrumented for tracking following the organization’s data-layer standards, partnering with web dev/design and data/reporting teams
- Apply established technical SEO and AI-discoverability practices when building or updating content pages; partner with marketing SEO/GEO specialists for content-level needs
- Implement experimentation on department-owned pages using the organization’s testing/personalization platform:
- A/B and multivariate testing on campaign pages, CTAs, conversion paths, and personalized experiences
- Use results to identify constituent needs, friction points, and opportunities to improve navigation, comprehension, engagement, conversion, and satisfaction
- Set up and manage multi-armed bandit (“king of the hill”) testing when appropriate to increase traffic to better-performing treatments over time
- Ensure each campaign, product page, and conversion path launches with a testing/optimization plan
- Partner with the Marketing Cloud Personalization lead to implement personalized experiences and ensure they are properly tested for performance
- Monitor and report test outcomes and treatment performance for department-owned pages, and feed learnings into future builds
- Participate in the link/page monitoring process and resolve flagged issues within department pages promptly
- Support content and marketing teams with hands-on landing page, campaign page, and product page execution, including video-first content presentation
- Bring department-specific priorities and technical needs into cross-team coordination (sprint planning, RFCs)
- Participate in code/technical reviews to maintain architectural consistency across a matrixed team
- Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical issues on department-owned pages
- Build functional pages and templates from wireframes, mockups, or campaign requirements, aligning with brand standards and UX expectations
- Implement and maintain front-end functionality and interactive components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies
- Support content personalization, gated content access, and user authentication experiences where applicable
- Conduct QA across cross-browser, cross-device, and mobile experiences; correct issues directly or coordinate with stakeholders
- Optimize landing pages, articles, and other content for search visibility and discoverability using current SEO/GEO best practices
- Research keywords, search intent, metadata, headings, and schema to improve organic performance
- Monitor search rankings, traffic trends, and content performance for assigned brand areas and recommend technical and content improvements
- Improve speed and reliability through image optimization, performance enhancements, plugin management, and other web maintenance practices
- Publish and format articles, reviews, and digital content in WordPress with clean rendering and alignment to brand/editorial standards
- Build, configure, and maintain web forms and related integrations to support data capture, lead flow, and campaign effectiveness
- Research, test, configure, and maintain plugins/tools/features that improve site functionality, reliability, and conversion performance
- Maintain version control and follow development workflow practices for assigned web projects and updates
- Provide WordPress and related tool subject matter expertise and administrative support for assigned brands
- Create and maintain documentation, training resources, and support materials for webpage development, content publishing, and troubleshooting
- Stay current with WordPress updates, SEO/GEO trends, security practices, accessibility standards, and related technologies; recommend updates to the Brand Marketer and stakeholders as appropriate
- Process webpage redirects, create QR codes, and complete other technical web support tasks needed for campaign/content execution
- For multi-brand assignments, balance competing requests to support publishing schedules, campaign timing, and organizational priorities
- Independently build, configure, test, deploy, and maintain WordPress pages, templates, components, and features for department campaigns, products, content, and initiatives
- Develop and customize WordPress themes, templates, blocks, patterns, custom post types, taxonomies, and approved plugins using established organizational standards
- Translate approved designs/wireframes/requirements into responsive, accessible, and maintainable WordPress experiences using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and established development patterns
- Configure page layouts, forms, media, metadata, redirects, and reusable content elements while preserving content quality, technical SEO, accessibility, and performance
- Follow source-control, code-review, testing, staging, release, documentation, and post-deployment validation processes
- Test WordPress changes for functionality, responsive behavior, browser compatibility, accessibility, analytics, technical SEO, and regression issues before release
- Troubleshoot routine WordPress issues involving templates, content display, forms, plugins, browser behavior, performance, and department pages
- Evaluate requested plugins and third-party scripts against standards for security, privacy, accessibility, performance, and maintainability; escalate approval decisions when required
- Follow WordPress core/theme/plugin/dependency maintenance practices; coordinate significant updates or production risks with the Lead Web Developer and other technical teams
- Identify gaps in components/templates/development standards and propose reusable improvements to Corporate Web Developer/UI-UX instead of creating isolated solutions
- Document significant configurations, customizations, dependencies, and implementation decisions for long-term support
- Support content creators and marketing partners in effective use of approved WordPress templates, components, and publishing practices
- Escalate architectural questions, security concerns, and significant performance issues or proposed exceptions to established standards
- Support digital stakeholders with varying technical expertise; escalate complex issues to appropriate teams as needed
- Collaborate with editors, designers, marketers, content producers, and technical teams to ensure consistent execution across assigned brands
- Perform other duties as assigned
