Wayfinding Coordinator (UI/UX Design)
Job Description
Join SEPTA’s Customer Experience Design team to shape digital rider experiences that support trip planning, wayfinding, and real-time service information.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate projects for service information design content across web, mobile, and digital screens on vehicles and at stations.
- Partner with Information Technology as a Subject Matter Expert on UI design for SEPTA’s website, mobile app, and audio/visual passenger information system (AVPA) screens.
- Create and deliver high-fidelity prototypes, graphic assets/files, and specifications for front-end development.
- Conduct quality control and user testing on the website/app prior to launch for brand consistency, ADA compliance, and UX/UI best practices.
- Lead by example on safety and security, enforcing Authority and departmental safety/security policies and job safety responsibilities.
- Identify and immediately report any safety concerns, compromises, or hazards affecting operations, yourself, or other employees; promote safety for others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, User Interface, or User Experience Design, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience creating digital UI/UX documentation required.
- Graduate degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
- Understanding of transit planning and/or operations preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, simple way.
- Project management skills: take initiative, take feedback well, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Excellent design, presentation, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple assignments and meet quick deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication plus excellent verbal and written skills for cross-department and external coordination, and preparation of technical reports, guidelines, and presentations.
- Advanced ability preparing UI/UX documentation and specifying design requirements for developers in Figma.
- Required understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Advanced technology skills in Adobe Creative Suite on Mac and PC, including: Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Bridge, and Dreamweaver (as listed).
- Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) preferred.

Salary: USD 73,164 - 91,442 per year
