Responsibilities
- Shape the visual design direction on engagements from concept to delivery, ensuring design quality, aesthetic cohesion, and on-time performance.
- Translate abstract briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear, compelling visual languages.
- Set and defend a high standard of visual craft across brand identities, design systems, motion, typography, illustration, and digital experiences.
- Balance visionary leadership with hands-on work, defining creative direction while producing high-quality output alongside the team.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production, demonstrating how these tools augment rather than replace creative thinking.
- Be a leading creative voice in client discussions, translating design rationale into strategic narratives that guide high-pressure decisions.
- Document how AI changes visual design workflows and quantify its impact on delivery quality and team performance to evolve the practice.
- Contribute to proposals, develop case studies, and translate project learnings into compelling thought leadership that showcases visual design capabilities.
- Identify and shape new creative opportunities with existing clients, partnering with account leads to craft a persuasive point of view for deeper engagement.
- Manage, support, and mentor team members to grow their craft, confidence, and independent practice.
- Be an engaged member of the Visual Design craft, sharing methods and outcomes to help advance the discipline.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Visual Design across diverse industries, brands, platforms, and contexts.
- 4+ years leading visual design engagements end-to-end, from concepting and strategy through to production-ready delivery.
- 4+ years directing the creation of brand identities, design systems, typography, motion, illustration, and digital UI with a strong, cohesive visual voice.
- 4+ years producing and directing high-fidelity visual work with pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specs.
- 3+ years directly managing or coaching visual designers, helping contributors grow into stronger, more independent practitioners.
- 3+ years working in agile, cross-functional environments with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists to deliver cohesive experiences.
- 3+ years delivering high-caliber visual design shipped at scale, solving complex product or brand challenges and delivering measurable impact.
- 3+ years making ground visual design decisions with a deep understanding of user experience, ensuring visuals guide users intuitively while expressing the brand.
- 3+ years building and contributing to scalable design systems that ensure visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
- 3+ years embedding AI tools and workflows into visual design practices from concept generation and mood-boarding to rapid iteration and modeling AI-enabled workflows for a team.
- 3+ years hands-on experience in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Claude Design, and related motion/illustration tools or AI design tools; this is a hands-on role, not purely managerial.
- 3+ years facilitating and presenting visual strategy and design rationale to senior client stakeholders, guiding creative decisions under pressure.
