Job Description

Kohler is hiring an onsite UI Design co-op from May 2027 through December 2027, supporting the creation of innovative, customer-focused products. In this role, you will partner with Human Factor researchers, Industrial Designers, engineering, and marketing to help shape usable and desirable experiences through UX/UI interaction design, research, prototyping, and refinement. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior Human Factor researchers and Industrial Designers to support development of new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Support understanding of consumer needs and behaviors through help with user research, development of mock-ups and prototypes, and participation in design critiques.
  • Conduct and analyze secondary research such as trend reports, product reviews, and competitive benchmarking, and advocate for customers throughout product development.
  • Create innovative user interaction designs for products and services, aiming for clear differentiation in the marketplace and meaningful customer experiences.
  • Contribute to interaction design by building UX/UI prototypes and writing behavior specifications for both product UI and app UI experiences.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate-level program in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in design research, user experience, interaction design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with digital design tools including Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, along with a strong understanding of Android and iOS platforms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly share research insights, design recommendations, and user experience concepts.
  • Authorization to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
