Temporary Associate Art Director
Job Description
This temporary, entry-level Art Director opportunity at L.L.Bean supports the creation of engaging video content by assisting with video concepting, filming, and editing. The role is based onsite at the Corporate Headquarters in Freeport, Maine and works closely with Art Directors, merchants, and Design partners to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Role Overview
As a Temporary Associate Art Director, you will help translate brand strategy and marketing communication into customer-facing video. You will contribute to creative planning for campaign strategies and strategic initiatives, assist with both larger and smaller productions, and support pre-production collaboration to ensure creative direction and print presentation input are incorporated.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the artistic translation of brand strategy and marketing communication to customers through video creation.
- Collaborate and communicate with merchants and Design partners to brainstorm and concept seasonal photography or video needs for omni-channel exposure plans.
- Assist with editing for larger productions (for example, How To) and take the lead on editing smaller projects (for example, Paid Social).
- Assist with filming for larger productions (for example, How To) and take the lead on filming smaller projects (for example, Paid Social).
- Support creative planning efforts, campaign strategies, and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the Creative team’s library of inspiration references.
- Execute assigned projects on schedule and within assigned expenses.
- Partner with Photo Operations to ensure necessary production requirements are met.
- Participate in pre-production meetings for assigned projects, providing creative input concerning print presentation.
- Apply an aesthetic “eye” to convey brand, strategy, and editorial messages through unique and innovative approaches.
- Demonstrate solid skills in technologies that support the process across mediums.
- Maintain awareness of changes in the creative industry.
- Ensure constructive, effective working relationships between the creative team, marketing partners, and merchant divisions.
Requirements
- BA/BS required.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Premiere.
- Interest in retail, fashion/outdoor, and an understanding of current industry-related trends.
- Passion for fashion/outdoor photography or video content.
- Strong creative portfolio emphasizing video production.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and milestones effectively.
- Strong aesthetic sense, detail-oriented work style, and high organization.
- Ability to collaborate and work with people across various disciplines.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Work Location and Schedule
- Onsite at L.L.Bean Corporate Headquarters in Freeport, ME.
- Ability to be onsite 4-5 days per week.
Compensation and Education
- Salary: USD 26 - 31 per hourly.
- Education: BA/BS.
