Job Description
FASTSIGNS Everett, Lancaster, York is seeking a Supervisor, Graphic Design to lead graphic design operations across its Everett and Lancaster locations. In this on-site, full-time role, you will coordinate production-ready design work, uphold standardized workflows, and guide a unified team to deliver accurate, high-quality signage graphics.
What you’ll do
- Participate in hiring and training for the design department team.
- Organize day-to-day work and schedules for design team members across both locations.
- Conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination decisions as needed in line with company policy.
- Oversee day-to-day design operations for Everett and Lancaster to align with production priorities.
- Create and modify vinyl and full-color graphics while maintaining production-ready standards.
- Review and approve designs to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to customer specifications.
- Ensure artwork is properly prepared and formatted for output to media.
- Conduct quality assurance and proofreading of signage before production.
- Assign work, manage team workloads, monitor deadlines, and track capacity and productivity across both locations.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to design team members.
- Lead onboarding, training, and continuous development initiatives for the design team.
- Host recurring design review and error analysis meetings to improve quality and reduce rework.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain SOPs and workflows across both locations.
- Communicate updates, announcements, and priorities to the unified design team via Slack and email.
- Report performance metrics for Everett and Lancaster teams internally and cross-functionally.
- Collaborate with production, sales, and customer service teams to support project alignment and execution.
- Support cross-location collaboration and provide remote support during business hours as needed.
- Identify process improvements and recommend enhancements to tools, workflows, and technologies.
- Operate within and enforce company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
What you bring
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong design judgment and a solid sense of design.
- A thorough understanding of typography, drawing, and lettering techniques.
- Proficiency with Google Office Suite or related tools and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Comfort with AI LLM tools as a multiplier of personal and team capacity.
- Leadership skills and the ability to organize work with attention to detail.
- Understanding of, or the ability to learn, art and print methods related to product and packaging needs.
- Minimum three years of graphic design experience.
- 1 to 3 years supervisory experience in graphic design.
- 1 to 3 years in a production graphic design role (as part of your experience profile).
- Project management and managerial experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; BFA in Art, Graphic Arts, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
