Join Myticas Consulting for an onsite UI/UX product designer role in Kansas City, MO. This six month contract to hire opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of $49.16 - $58.34 (W2) and a collaborative environment where design choices influence technology products from concept through delivery. You will work with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to shape meaningful experiences, contribute to design systems, and stay current with industry trends to continuously improve both the user experience and design processes.
Location is on site in Kansas City, Missouri, with the engagement structured as a contract that can transition to permanent based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead user research to uncover needs, behaviors, and pain points through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights.
- Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high fidelity mockups to visualize concepts and iterate based on feedback.
- Design visually compelling, intuitive interfaces that align with brand guidelines and are responsive and accessible across devices.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals; contribute to cross functional design discussions.
- Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate concepts and identify areas for improvement; analyze results and iterate accordingly.
- Contribute to and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI pattern libraries to ensure consistency across products.
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies and seek opportunities to enhance the user experience and design workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in computer science or a related field with at least 4 years of related professional experience, OR an Associate degree with 6 years of related experience, OR a High School diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience.
- 3-5 years of UI/UX design experience, preferably within a technology product environment.
- Proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
- Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically about design challenges.
- Effective verbal and written communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile technology team and take ownership of tasks.
