Job Description
A senior-level web designer and project manager is needed to support NSF OLPA digital communications and outreach, tackling on-site work at NSF headquarters in Alexandria, VA. This contract role hinges on NSF contract award and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. The position combines hands-on design leadership with cross-functional project coordination to ensure accessible, standards-compliant web experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead web design and development efforts for NSF external and internal websites.
- Manage web-related projects, priorities, and schedules.
- Advise NSF staff on web design best practices, accessibility, and usability.
- Ensure compliance with US Web Design System, Section 508, and plain language standards.
- Coordinate work across designers, developers, and content contributors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in computer science or related field preferred.
