Senior UI/UX Designer
Job Description
Senior UI/UX Designer in Herndon, VA focusing on JavaScript web applications for a Motion GEOINT product, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to craft responsive, user-centered interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Craft end-to-end user experiences for browser-based JavaScript apps, from initial concept to final handoff.
- Produce wireframes, user flows, mockups, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Partner with product managers, users, and developers to define requirements and simplify complex workflows into intuitive experiences.
- Develop responsive interfaces optimized for desktop and mobile web environments.
- Build and maintain reusable design systems, component libraries, and web UI standards.
- Maintain consistency in visual design, interaction patterns, accessibility, and usability across products.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analyses to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and stakeholder input.
- Advocate for UX best practices, accessibility, and front-end product design standards.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph or the ability to obtain one.
- Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over ten years of professional UI/UX design experience for web applications.
- Experience collaborating with users, product, and engineering teams.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design work for JavaScript-based web applications, SaaS platforms, or interactive digital products.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalents.
- Experience designing for modern front-end environments using React, Angular, or Vue.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and usability principles.
- Ability to clearly communicate design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with front-end implementation constraints, HTML/CSS, and component-based design.
- At least five years of professional experience with Motion GEOINT data, concepts, and applications.
- Experience designing geospatial software applications.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence from Atlassian.
- Strong understanding of web design and user experience.

Pay transparency
The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $137,000.00 - $228,000.00 annually.
