Senior Associate, Product Designer

In Capital One’s Experience Design organization, this Senior Associate, Product Designer role supports the team’s mission to raise design quality and maturity through strong craft and customer-centered thinking. This hybrid position is based in Plano, TX, with relocation to Plano required if you are not located in the Dallas, TX area.

As an individual contributor (IC) at the Senior Associate level, you will help shape solutions to complex product problems, partner with teams across design and technology, and translate insights into clear design artifacts. The role is posted by the Information Technology Senior Management Forum and is intended to accept applications for a minimum of 5 business days.

What you’ll do

• Co-create innovative solutions to complex problems by combining craft expertise with customer and business understanding
• Apply product design skills across interaction, visual, and service design to elevate the quality and maturity of the design practice
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to use appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems while producing artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
• Use data and research insights, along with creative problem-solving, to support customer-centered design decisions
• Understand your product, processes, and partner goals to recognize and bridge gaps between customer-centered solutions and business needs
• Work with team members and partners to gather feedback, understand technology and data capabilities, and consider emerging technologies while navigating technical limitations
• Build relationships across functional partners, identifying collaboration opportunities and incorporating diverse perspectives to strengthen project outcomes and trust
• Present work to diverse audiences using a human-centered approach, including meaningful evidence and clear articulation of design decisions

Minimum qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a Product Design role
• At least 2 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma

Preferred qualifications

• Experience working with an established design system
• Experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners
• Experience in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces

Compensation and incentives

• Annual salary range for Plano, TX: $101,100 - $115,400 (Sr. Associate, Design)
• Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI); incentives may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan
