Production Artist/Graphic Design/Customer Service

Minuteman Press is seeking an energetic Production Artist who can move confidently between print production, graphic design, and customer-facing order support. Based onsite across their South Portland and Saco locations, this full-time role supports customers from early proofs through to completed print work and finishing.

Role focus

• Manage day-to-day workflow efficiently for print and production projects
• Create graphic files for print
• Set up files for digital printing
• Obtain customer proof approvals by sending proofs for confirmation
• Run print jobs and perform finishing, cutting, and bindery work
• Communicate with customers and respond to emails efficiently
• Follow established business processes and collaborate closely with the team on orders and projects
• Learn and use the company’s CRM software systems to support customer and order tracking

Design and production tasks

• Design catalog layouts, mailings, print ads, logos, business cards, and related materials
• Create clip art or other graphics for clients seeking one-of-a-kind artwork
• Set up jobs for print, then run the print jobs
• Complete finishing and bindery tasks
• Follow up with clients to secure proof approvals
• Provide support and solutions to customers in line with company customer service policies
• Support the print workflow end-to-end, from prepress through production

Requirements

• Graphics design for print experience
• High attention to detail and strong deadline awareness
• Experienced using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
• Previous experience multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven business
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exemplary customer service skills with clients
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Team player who follows established business processes
• Willingness to learn, including adopting internal systems
• Positive attitude and strong communication are essential

Location and schedule

• Location: South Portland, ME (onsite)
• Work location: One location
• Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8:30AM–5PM; Fridays 8:30AM–4PM (paid to 5PM)

Pay

• Starting pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour

Experience and education

• Minimum experience: 3 years in graphics (preferred)
• Education: High school or equivalent (preferred); Associate Degree
