Job Description

Pinterest is looking for a Product Designer II to help shape how Pinners receive, manage, and engage with notifications. In this onsite role in Seattle, WA, you will design end-to-end notification experiences across push, email, and in-app surfaces for iOS, Android, desktop, and web.

You will work at the intersection of product craft and measurable outcomes, turning ambiguous problems into clear UX and interaction patterns. The team uses an AI-enabled workflow to move faster through exploration, prototyping, and synthesis, while still validating quality, accessibility, and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design and ship notification experiences across push, email, and in-app on iOS, Android, desktop, and web.
  • Build cohesive notification journeys covering permissions, delivery, entry points, preferences, and settings.
  • Turn ambiguous product challenges into clear design requirements, user flows, and interaction patterns.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists to find opportunities, design experiments, and improve engagement outcomes.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to refine visual hierarchy, messaging, micro-interactions, and timing.
  • Create high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and detailed specifications that extend the Pinterest design system.
  • Communicate design decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations to advocate for user-centered solutions aligned to product and business goals.
  • Use AI-enabled workflows to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and synthesis while validating quality, accessibility, and Pinner impact.
  • Share progress early, address blockers proactively, and help maintain a respectful, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of product design experience, ideally in growth, engagement, or consumer-facing mobile products.
  • A portfolio showing strong product and visual design craft, including end-to-end flows for mobile and web.
  • Experience designing, shipping, and iterating on consumer experiences with close partnership across product management and engineering.
  • Strong UX principles with the ability to translate business goals into testable hypotheses and experiments.
  • A data-informed approach, using research, experimentation, and product metrics to improve designs.
  • Ability to scope and drive projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Mastery of Figma, solid prototyping skills, and experience producing clear handoff documentation for engineering.
  • Thoughtful handling of edge cases, accessibility, and user control in cross-channel experiences.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative, low-ego working style across functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation: USD 109,242 - 224,910 per year.
