Job Description

Pinterest is hiring a Product Designer II to shape how Pinners receive, manage, and engage with notifications across push, email, and in-app experiences. In this hybrid role in New York, NY, you will design end-to-end notification journeys, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and use insights and AI-enabled workflows to improve engagement outcomes.

  • Create cohesive journeys that cover notification permissions, delivery, entry points, preferences, and settings.
  • Turn ambiguous product challenges into clear design requirements, user flows, and interaction patterns.
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists to identify opportunities, design experiments, and improve engagement outcomes.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to refine visual hierarchy, messaging, micro-interactions, and timing of notification experiences.
  • Produce high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and detailed specifications that extend the Pinterest design system.
  • Communicate design decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly, advocating for user-centered solutions aligned with product and business goals.
  • Apply AI-enabled workflows to speed up exploration, prototyping, and synthesis while validating quality, accessibility, and Pinner impact.
  • Share progress early, address blockers proactively, and contribute to a respectful, collaborative working environment.

What you’ll bring

  • 2+ years of product design experience, ideally in growth, engagement, or consumer-facing mobile products.
  • A portfolio showing strong product and visual design craft, including end-to-end flows for mobile and web.
  • Experience designing, shipping, and iterating on consumer product experiences with product management and engineering.
  • Strong UX principles, with the ability to translate business goals into testable hypotheses and experiments.
  • A data-informed approach using research, experimentation, and product metrics to improve designs.
  • Ability to scope and drive projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Proficiency with Figma, solid prototyping skills, and experience creating clear handoff documentation.
  • Thoughtful attention to edge cases, accessibility, and user control across channels.
