Product Designer II, Notifications
Job Description
Pinterest is hiring a Product Designer II to shape end-to-end notification experiences across push, email, and in-app surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship notification experiences across push, email, and in-app on iOS, Android, desktop, and web.
- Build cohesive notification journeys covering permissions, delivery, entry points, and preferences/settings.
- Convert unclear product challenges into design requirements, user flows, and interaction patterns.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists to find opportunities and improve engagement outcomes.
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to refine visual hierarchy, messaging, micro-interactions, and notification timing.
- Create high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and detailed specifications that extend the Pinterest design system.
- Explain design decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations while advocating for user-centered solutions aligned to product and business goals.
- Apply AI-enabled workflows to speed up exploration, prototyping, and synthesis while validating quality, accessibility, and Pinner impact.
- Share progress early, surface blockers proactively, and maintain a respectful, collaborative way of working.
Requirements
- 2+ years of product design experience, ideally in growth, engagement, or consumer-facing mobile products.
- A portfolio showing strong product and visual design craft, including end-to-end flows for mobile and web.
- Experience designing, shipping, and iterating on consumer product experiences with product management and engineering.
- Strong grasp of UX principles and the ability to turn business goals into testable hypotheses and experiments.
- Data-informed mindset, including use of research, experimentation, and product metrics to improve designs.
- Ability to scope and drive projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Proficiency with Figma, solid prototyping skills, and experience producing clear engineering handoff documentation.
- Thoughtful approach to edge cases, accessibility, and user control across channels.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach across functions.
- Bachelor's degree in design, a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation
- USD 109,242 - 224,910 per year
