Product Designer, AWS Events Tech Team & Marketer Experience

AWS is hiring a Product Designer to shape end-to-end UX for the AWS Events Mobile App and AI-powered experiences for AWS re:Invent and global events.

Responsibilities

• Lead UX design for the AWS Events Mobile App, delivering cross-platform experiences for iOS and Android from concept through high-fidelity outputs.
• Develop user flows, wireframes, interaction models, and high-fidelity prototypes that communicate design intent to engineering partners.
• Ideate and rapidly prototype new app concepts by working backwards from customer experience; validate through user research and testing, then iterate toward production readiness.
• Own and evolve the mobile design system, supporting consistency, accessibility, and scalability across screens and releases.
• Design conversational UX for the Concierge AI assistant, enabling personalized session recommendations, wayfinding, and real-time event support via multi-modal interactions.
• Partner with engineers to ensure AI-powered responses integrate cleanly into the experience layer, providing clear design specifications and interaction patterns.
• Concept, prototype, and deliver interactive experiences for re:Invent attendees, progressing from early sketches to polished, testable prototypes.
• Operate in a startup-speed environment: move from sketch to working prototype within days rather than weeks.
• Coordinate daily with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to support seamless end-to-end delivery.
• Advocate for design quality and accessibility through design reviews and UX best-practice development.
• Communicate technical trade-offs clearly and translate design intent into actionable specs for engineering teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of design experience.
• Available online portfolio showing end-to-end product design work.
• Experience creating visually polished, engaging, highly fluid UX prototypes using tools such as Figma, Principle, ProtoPie, or similar.
• Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering in an agile environment.
• Strong understanding of mobile design patterns, iOS/Android conventions, and responsive design principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing conversational or AI-powered user experiences.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React Native) sufficient for effective collaboration with engineering and understanding platform constraints (not required to write production code).
• Experience conducting and applying user research to inform design decisions.
• Experience designing at scale for large, diverse audiences (e.g., events, consumer apps).
• Familiarity with design systems and component-based design approaches.
• Experience with motion design and micro-interactions.

Location: New York, NY (onsite)

Compensation: USD 117,800 - 176,000 per yearly
