Product Designer
Job Description
Hands-on Product Designer role in Gallatin, TN, bridging brand/creative design and end-to-end product UX/UI for a build-from-scratch Resource Center and AI-enabled tools.
Responsibilities
- Design the brand system: Partner with the CMPO to build and maintain brand identity for Empower Ministry (by the Isaacson Foundation), including guidelines, logo, fonts, colors, and storytelling elements; apply a consistent visual system through templates and brand assets with unified typography, color, illustration, and iconography across touchpoints.
- Lead brand refresh: Drive the Brand Refresh of the Isaacson Foundation and Empower Ministry under the CMPO’s guidance.
- Create marketing assets: Produce marketing collateral such as ad creatives, social media kits, email templates, sales decks, and physical event assets.
- Design web experiences: Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to optimize a high-performing website, web apps, and conversion-focused landing pages.
- Support church toolkit adoption: Provide visual frameworks and templates for the Church Brand Development Toolkit that churches can adopt directly.
- Own the asset library: Maintain brand and creative asset library (digital asset management), including version control of logos and master files, photography and assets, and template governance so teams use current, correct, on-brand materials.
- Build self-serve templates: Create and maintain on-brand templates for documents, decks, social, and email to support consistent output and reduce editorial-review load.
- Shape creative strategy with the CMPO: Collaborate on brand and marketing creative strategy, campaign concepts, and content creation across channels, offering independent recommendations alongside execution.
- Design public-facing campaign creative: Create assets for the Benefits of Faith campaign and other initiatives; translate campaign strategy into content calendars and asset production while working as Empower Ministry’s in-house designer alongside creative agencies.
- Develop storytelling content across channels: Produce on-brand assets for website, social channels, email, video, editorial calendar, and church-facing communications.
- Create channel-ready shareable creative: Build scroll-stopping assets tailored to each channel’s format and audience with a focus on shareability potential.
- Execute end-to-end storytelling assets: Own concepting, design, light video editing/motion graphics, and copy polish; loop in agency partners when needed.
- Test and iterate using feedback: Continuously test and iterate content formats based on engagement data and audience feedback.
- Manage licensing and rights: Clear rights for production assets, including fonts, stock imagery, music, and templates, ensuring proper licensing and attribution.
- Build and maintain a design system: Create and maintain a scalable Figma component library, supporting smooth transitions from marketing assets to inside-the-app interfaces.
- Architect user journeys: Map end-to-end user flows, produce wireframes and interactive prototypes for web or mobile applications.
- Optimize for usability: Develop user research mechanisms, conduct light user research, analyze behavior data (Hotjar, Mixpanel), and iterate to remove friction in the user funnel.
- Design for accessibility: Apply recognized accessibility standards (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) across web, the Resource Center, and product interfaces, and build accessibility checks into usability and iteration work.
- Partner on Resource Center UX/UI: With the CMPO and AI Specialist, design Resource Center wireframes and role-based UI/UX, and drive ongoing improvements based on user feedback.
- Design AI-enabled experiences: Translate product vision and audience strategy into interface designs; design user experience for AI-enabled features (search, content generation, personalized recommendations) as they mature toward production.
- Design church-facing AI use-case materials: Define the format and visual presentation for the top church-facing AI use-case guides; help establish reusable design patterns for future AI resource development.
- Coordinate with product and marketing teams: Work with the Marketing & Communications Manager to align data-driven strategies with premium aesthetic execution.
- Support engineering delivery: Provide engineering teams with precise specs, clean Figma files, asset exports, and interactive behavior rules.
- Follow editorial review workflows: Work within CMPO editorial review and brand approval workflows to keep external-facing assets consistent.
- Contribute to leadership materials: Support Empower Ministry Leadership (EML) Network materials, board committee presentations, and Priority Impact Partner touchpoints as needed.
- Light product coordination: Support CMPO product roadmap needs by maintaining a working backlog of design and product items, tracking sequencing and milestones, and coordinating design-to-development delivery with the AI Specialist and the CTO’s engineering team.
- Deliver key Resource Center UX milestones: Deliver the Resource Center v1.0 wireframe and role-based UI/UX; ensure key Empower Ministry AI use-case guides are designed and published.
