Manager, UX & UI Design

HSA Bank in Milwaukee is seeking a Manager of UX and UI Design to steer the visual direction of its digital products. The role collaborates with UX designers, product managers, and engineering teams to translate research and wireframes into polished visuals and interactive prototypes while upholding design system standards and accessibility across web and mobile platforms. This onsite position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX Designers to translate research findings, user flows, wireframes, and interaction models into refined visual designs.
• Produce high-fidelity mockups, screen designs, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile using Figma.
• Maintain design system standards to ensure consistency across products, platforms, and development teams.
• Design responsive interfaces that deliver seamless experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Create and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, templates, and documentation within the design system.
• Develop detailed design specifications and implementation guidance for development teams.
• Collaborate with Scrum teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet quality standards.
• Produce visual assets, layouts, interaction states, and UI components aligned with business requirements and brand standards.
• Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX Designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Participate in product discovery sessions, design reviews, usability testing, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
• Advocate for accessibility, visual consistency, and best practices in interface design.
• Contribute to the evolution and governance of enterprise design systems and component libraries.
• Review implemented solutions and suggest refinements to improve usability, consistency, and visual quality.
• Stay current with UI design trends, emerging technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UI design, visual design, responsive design, and digital product design for web and mobile.
• Expert proficiency with Figma and modern design and prototyping tools.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, spacing, visual hierarchy, iconography, and interface design principles.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
• Ability to transform UX concepts, wireframes, and workflows into polished, production-ready visual designs.
• Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, usability standards, and user-centered design methodologies.
• Experience designing responsive interfaces across desktop and mobile platforms.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality and consistency.
• Experience collaborating with software engineers and translating designs into development-ready specifications.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback.
