Lead Product Designer

Lead Product Designer at Veeva Systems sets design direction for a core Vault product area and drives cross-functional alignment across Design, Engineering, and Product Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define the design vision and strategy for your product area and secure alignment with Design, Engineering, and Product Leadership.
• Own end-to-end design of complex, high-impact features from concept through delivery, guiding every lifecycle stage.
• Maintain a high bar for craft, consistency, and user experience within your area; contribute scalable design systems and patterns across the product while championing best practices.
• Mentor teammates through critique, feedback, and paired work to elevate the team's capabilities.
• Be the design voice in cross-functional planning, representing the team's perspective and influencing upstream product decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Management to shape strategy and define requirements rather than simply responding to them.
• Provide a point of view on how AI integrates into the design workflow, piloting tools and establishing habits that accelerate designer velocity and capability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience for web applications or products.
• Proven track record as a senior individual contributor on a product design team.
• Outstanding portfolio showcasing typography, interaction, visual design, and ideation.
• Ability and enjoyment in designing end-to-end experiences, including UX and visual design.
• Experience collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
• Experience partnering with Product Managers to develop feature strategy and rationale.
• Prototyping experience to explore and convey design solutions.
• Strong belief in user-centered design principles.
• Ability to work independently to troubleshoot technical and process-related issues.
• Self-sufficient and proactive, able to seek answers independently.
• Excellent time management skills with experience in time-sensitive development cycles.

The Role

As a Lead Product Designer at Veeva, you will set the design direction for one of our core Vault product areas and help shape how the design team operates at its best. We seek a seasoned designer who blends strong craft with judgments and presence to lead, define feature vision, drive alignment across Product, Engineering, and Design, and raise the quality of work around them.

This role goes beyond execution. You will act as the design authority in your product area, partner with Product and Design leadership, and contribute meaningfully to how we grow our design practice.

You will design products that affect millions of users. Our work serves the largest global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, aiding doctors and patients who rely on our solutions.

Compensation

• Base pay: $130,000 - $200,000
• The salary range listed complies with local regulations and represents a potential base salary for this role; actual compensation may vary based on experience and location. Compensation is considered on a per-individual basis with respect to qualifications and expected contributions.
