Kids Creative Director

Green Acres Baptist Church, Tyler, Texas, invites you to lead the Kids Ministry as the Kids Creative Director. This onsite role focuses on planning, organizing, and executing all special events and guest experiences to help people be transformed by the Truth of Jesus. The position offers an hourly range of $14.00 to $16.00 and a Paid Time Off benefit, reflecting a commitment to collaborative, faith-driven work in a supportive church community.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, motivate, and supervise special event volunteers, including greeters, atrium desk volunteers, and student leaders.
• Build and manage the Vacation Bible School Motions Team, create motion assets, and schedule weekly rehearsals leading up to VBS.
• Coordinate volunteer support for large group events and ministry experiences.
• Lead all creative and guest experiences, and oversee the planning, promotion, implementation, and follow-up of events such as Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, VBS, Kids Camp, mission trips, and other ministry activities.
• Assist with set-up and tear-down of all Kids Ministry events and environments.
• Staff the Atrium desk on non-event Sundays as needs arise.
• Source photo booths, decorations, food, and other creative elements through outside vendors for each event.
• Coordinate with the Resource and Finance Coordinator to secure items needed for events.
• Collaborate with internal departments including Communications, Broadcast, and Facilities to prepare, execute, and support Kids Ministry events.
• Coordinate with Communications to prepare, order, and streamline all marketing, print materials, Canva graphics, and other creative assets for Kids Ministry events.
• Arrange photography for special Sundays and events in partnership with Communications.
• Create, update, and maintain curriculum themes and creative assets to support ministry events and classroom environments.
• Manage the Kids Ministry social media presence on Facebook and Instagram, organizing a content calendar and posting multiple times per week.
• Promote weekly and yearly special events through Connect Groups, Bible studies, social media, and other ministry channels.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute Vacation Bible School large group experiences by aligning with Communications, Facilities, Broadcast, and the Lead Pastor.
• Create itineraries for guests, conferences, and ministry events.
• Track and update address labels for Christmas cards and other ministry mailings.
• Decorate and maintain the Rally Room to reflect the monthly curriculum theme and create an engaging environment for kids.
• Collaborate on projects, events, and schedules as needed.
• Provide flexible support to the Kids Pastor's day-to-day needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Active member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
• Understanding and support of the church mission and vision.
• Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, children, and their parents or caregivers.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, and social media platforms.
• Commitment to high moral and ethical standards, striving to act with integrity in all actions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening as well as criminal and sexual misconduct background checks.

Physical requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with event setup and teardown.
• On-site work at Green Acres offices.
