Job Description

The Hubbell Enterprise Marketing (HEM) Team Lead, Graphic Design role oversees a graphic design team to strengthen brand awareness across Hubbell and its portfolio of brands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Graphic Designers using best-in-class design tools, techniques, and technologies to create innovative design work across diverse applications
  • Provide art direction and design expertise from kickoff through final production, coordinating internal customers and team members to support high-quality deliverables
  • Partner with internal customers to align on project requirements, objectives, and presentation concepts, then coordinate the creative activities that support them
  • Support major team projects and initiatives with design contributions
  • Review and approve proofs produced by team members and outside vendors, providing detailed, actionable feedback
  • Ensure all design projects meet required standards and specifications
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a diverse group of team members to sustain strong performance
  • Build a positive, inclusive environment that attracts, motivates, and retains top talent
  • Own the quality and on-time completion of assigned work delivered by the Graphic Design Team
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Graphic Design and other Graphic Design team leads to balance workloads, establish consistent team practices, and improve processes
  • Apply the creative vision from creative leadership across the team’s work
  • Guide creative leadership on brand standards and visual guidelines, ensuring those guidelines are used within the team
  • Use feedback from the Manager, Graphic Design, and other stakeholders to improve team designs and working methods

Requirements

  • BS degree in graphic design, illustration, art history, or another relevant field; MBA preferred
  • At least 5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably including experience leading design teams
  • Strong understanding of, and hands-on experience applying, graphic design principles and best practices
  • Ability to translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies, including goals and objectives for the graphic design team
  • Extensive experience across graphic design, illustration, animation, packaging, web design, and multi-media (required)
  • Capable of delivering high-quality work with little to no supervision and collaborating effectively with global, cross-functional teams as needed
  • Proven ability to build, coach, motivate, and inspire a diverse, high-performing team to deliver outstanding results
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent listening, project management, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a result-driven environment

Job Overview

  • HEM Team Lead, Graphic Design oversees a team of graphic designers creating and elevating brand awareness for Hubbell and its portfolio through creative graphic design
  • Leads day-to-day tasks, activities, and creative reviews to deliver assets supporting brand, product, and marketing strategies
