Job Description
San Bernardino County is seeking an Economic Development Coordinator II who specializes in graphic design and marketing to advance the region's development initiatives. Onsite in San Bernardino, CA, this role combines branding, outreach, data analysis, and project coordination to support economic development efforts through visually compelling materials, strategic communications, and cross-department collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across internal departments and external partners.
- Coordinate and implement economic development projects from inception to completion.
- Provide technical assistance and resources to support partners and initiatives.
- Assist with marketing strategies and develop visually engaging materials to promote economic development.
- Conduct studies and research to inform planning and decision-making.
- Analyze relevant legislation and provide informed recommendations.
- Monitor contracts to ensure compliance and timeliness.
- Represent the County at various functions to advocate for economic development priorities.
- Develop marketing materials, presentations, graphics, and digital content for outreach and program support.
- Use graphic design, AI tools, and creative software to produce visual renderings, promotional materials, and communications content.
- Research, analyze, and interpret economic, demographic, market, and industry data to support projects, planning, and business development activities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and briefing materials for leadership, stakeholders, and diverse audiences.
- Utilize GIS and mapping tools to analyze spatial data, assist with site selection, and create visual project materials.
- Support branding, marketing, social media, website content, and public outreach campaigns to promote regional economic development efforts.
- Coordinate and support meetings, events, workshops, and special projects with internal departments, business partners, and community organizations.
- Maintain project files, databases, digital assets, and related project tracking and reporting systems.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in public or business administration, economic development, finance, marketing, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent professional experience in economic or business development, real estate/commercial development, marketing, public relations, or graphic design.
- A master's degree in a qualifying area may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
- Travel throughout the County is required. A valid California Class C Driver License is required; mileage reimbursement is available at current IRS rates.
- A clean driving record and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

- Promotion: incumbents may be eligible for promotion to Economic Development Coordinator III ($87,339.20 - $120,224.00 annually) after meeting minimum qualifications and with a satisfactory progress review; promotion eligibility is within eighteen (18) months or termination.
