E-Commerce Web Designer - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation is looking for an E-Commerce Web Designer - AI Trainer in Round Rock, TX (onsite) to evaluate how frontier AI models perform on visual design tasks. The role focuses on producing realistic design briefs, running them through AI design tools, and assessing the outputs against professional design standards.

Location and Contract Details

• Location: Round Rock, TX (onsite)
• Employment type: Contract
• Pay: USD 75 to 125 per hour
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred; not required)

Responsibilities

• Create challenging, realistic design briefs based on your own professional expertise.
• Run briefs through frontier AI design tools and evaluate the results using the same standards you would expect from a colleague.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, selecting which performed better and documenting where each model fell short.
• Critique AI-generated interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
• Identify and flag concrete failures, including issues with alignment and spacing, content overflow and cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

Requirements

• English fluency: native or bilingual level
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design
• Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow
• Ability to articulate why a design fails, not only that it fails
• Comfort working with AI design tools, or the ability to learn them quickly
• Bachelor’s degree: current, in progress, or completed (preferred; not required)

Project Flexibility and Payment

• Choose which projects to work on and when.
• Work on your own schedule, on your own computer, from home.
• Hourly project pay of USD 75 to 125, with bonus rates available on some projects.
• Payments are made via PayPal.
