E-Commerce Web Designer - AI Trainer

Build and evaluate design briefs using frontier AI tools from anywhere. DataAnnotation supports an independent contractor setup with flexible project choice and a schedule you control, letting you work from home on your own computer.

This contract role is based in Atlanta, GA (remote) and pays USD 75 to 125 per hour, with bonus rates available on some projects. Payment is made via PayPal, and PayPal handles any currency conversions from USD. DataAnnotation also confirms it will never ask for any money from applicants.

What you’ll do

• Create realistic, challenging e-commerce design briefs drawing on your professional expertise.
• Run briefs through frontier AI design tools and assess the output against the standards you would expect from a colleague.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, then determine which performed better and identify where each fell short.
• Critique AI-generated work across interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
• Document concrete failures with evidence, such as alignment and spacing issues, content overflow or cutoff, typography problems, visual hierarchy gaps, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, or off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across a range of design and interactive tasks, including software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

What you bring

• Fluency in English at a native or bilingual level.
• A background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• A strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• The ability to explain why a design fails, not only that it does.
• Comfort working with AI design tools, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required (current, in progress, or completed).
