Job Description
Sheer Science is hiring a Director of Graphic Design to lead the hands-on creative vision for a multi-brand beauty and skincare portfolio. This hybrid role in Boca Raton, FL blends senior design craft with performance-minded execution, from concept to market, across digital, retail, and DTC experiences.
In this position, you will set visual standards, elevate creative output, and mentor a small in-house team while coordinating agencies and freelancers. The work spans ads, packaging, CRM, e-commerce, social, and photography-driven content, with an emphasis on building customer trust and measurable growth.
What you’ll do
- Support visual direction and design standards across all brands, ensuring distinct identities while maintaining consistency and production efficiency where applicable.
- Maintain a high creative bar across ads, packaging, email, web, and e-commerce by designing, reviewing, and directing work that is polished, brand-right, and performance-minded.
- Lead high-volume visual creative for Meta, TikTok, paid social, email/SMS, and other digital channels, using data, testing, and iteration to improve engagement, conversion, and retention.
- Direct packaging design, point-of-sale materials, direct mail, and print creative for retail and DTC channels.
- Oversee product photography, listing imagery, A+ content, and storefront design across owned e-commerce and Amazon.
- Translate clinical study data and before/after results into compelling, compliant visual proof points that build customer trust.
- Mentor, manage, and elevate the in-house graphic design team, coordinating with external agencies, production partners, and freelancers to deliver high-quality work at pace.
- Partner with Media, Production, Digital Marketing, CRM, and E-Commerce teams to align priorities, claims, performance insights, and channel needs into effective creative.
- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines, visual standards, asset libraries, and design systems across a growing portfolio of products.
What you bring
- 8+ years of graphic design and creative leadership experience, including significant experience in direct-response marketing, DTC e-commerce, or performance-driven advertising (health, beauty, wellness, or consumer products preferred).
- 3+ years managing, mentoring, and art-directing graphic designers or visual creative talent.
- A strong hands-on background and portfolio featuring polished, performance-minded DTC assets across paid social, web, packaging, e-commerce, and email/CRM.
- Fluency in lifecycle, CRM, paid social, and digital creative best practices, including rapid testing, hook/variant development, and data-informed creative decisions.
- AI proficiency, including experience with generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and integrating AI into creative workflows with strategic alignment to brand goals.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating senior-level graphic design, art direction, social/digital ad creative, packaging, photography direction, and visual systems (video/DRTV experience is a plus).
- Experience architecting and maintaining Brandfolder or similar Digital Asset Management ecosystems.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere and After Effects familiarity is a plus).
- A Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Advertising, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Based in or willing to relocate to South Florida and able to reliably work on-site at the company’s headquarters in Boca Raton, FL.
