Job Description

NBCUniversal offers a collaborative, creative environment for a Creative Director, Motion Design to lead motion design and brand storytelling for NBC Entertainment. This hybrid role, based in Universal City, CA, carries a salary range of USD 155,000 to 200,000 per year with bonus and long-term incentive eligibility. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and evolution of motion design for title sequences and brand video campaigns across NBC Entertainment properties and platforms
  • Collaborate with IATSE motion designers, animators, and production artists to produce bold, culturally resonant campaigns that stand out on broadcast, streaming, digital, social, experiential, and out-of-home channels
  • Coordinate with Motion Design Creative Directors and Project Management to balance workloads between internal designers and external agencies
  • Drive ideation and creative development for title related motion branding and talent capture shoots
  • Partner with NBC Marketing peers in Static Design, Creative Content, Project Management, Operations, and Shoots to foster synergy
  • Build and direct relationships with leading external resources and agencies, guiding their day-to-day work on select motion projects
  • Engage with teams across NBC Entertainment and NBCU properties, including Brand Strategy, Consumer Engagement, Social, and Shoots, as well as Peacock, Sports, News, and Cable nets
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and inspiring working environment for all team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years of agency advertising and/or television creative marketing experience
  • Minimum 8 years in a senior design creative role managing teams of five or more
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat
  • Extensive knowledge of 3D pipelines and software, with Cinema 4D preferred
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), Slack, Airtable, and Figma or similar collaborative tools
  • Willingness to travel to motion branding shoots and industry events
  • Excellent leadership, design judgment, and creative abilities with strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong ideation, conceptualization, and strategic thinking
  • Proven track record directing motion branding and graphics for television and digital platforms, including VFX workflows and compositing
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and motivated leadership style; collaborative team player
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with attention to timelines and cost management
  • Creative problem solving and openness to adopting new technologies and strategies
  • Confidence collaborating with partners to shape the best creative development

Additional information

This position currently follows a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of four in-office days per week. NBCUniversal reserves the right to modify in-office requirements at any time. As part of the selection process, external candidates may be asked to attend an in-person interview at one of NBCUniversal's locations prior to a hiring decision. Salary range is USD 155,000 to 200,000 and includes eligibility for bonus and long-term incentives.
