Art Director
Job Description
The Art Director will lead concepting and design for cross-channel campaigns at LEGO, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors within a fast-paced, global environment. This mid-level role focuses on delivering compelling brand expressions for LEGO and retailer partners across multiple platforms.
Location and Compensation
Location: Boston, MA (hybrid). Salary: USD 75,436 - 113,154 per year.
Responsibilities
- Concept and design campaigns for external retailers and LEGO owned retail channels.
- Collaborate with creative direction to translate ideas into cohesive brand experiences across ecommerce, digital marketing, social media, email, activations, window displays, and in-store point of sale.
- Develop shopper-focused campaigns that deliver a premium and memorable experience for shoppers and consumers.
- Interpret creative briefs from Creative leads and Strategist to produce content across marketing levers for multi-channel execution.
- Actively participate in brainstorm sessions with the creative team to generate concept proposals.
- Support concept development that solves business problems and meets marketing objectives with thoughtful tactics and compelling design.
- Present concepts to senior creative staff, articulate and defend creative direction choices, and iterate based on cross-functional feedback.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Strategist, Copywriter, and the Creative team to meet milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate with external vendors such as illustrators, 3D artists, motion graphics and video specialists, and structural engineers to ensure high-quality execution.
- Maintain a high standard of visual execution across all work in line with brand guidelines.
- Stay informed about industry trends, design technology, and new marketing platforms.
- Contribute to concepting, designing, and delivering campaigns and experiences for the LEGO Agency's Commerce team.
Requirements
- Mid-level professional with design experience and a track record of directing internal and external teams.
- Experience from an external advertising agency, designing for global brands, preferably in retail or retailer marketing.
- Experience producing video content for social media channels.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual and design skills; provide a link to an online portfolio.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Figma, and Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to deliver bold campaign concepts across digital, traditional, and experiential media.
- Ability to self-direct, multitask, and prioritize work assignments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present work clearly in internal reviews and stakeholder meetings.
- Deep understanding of the creative development process and the capability to translate marketing goals into effective design.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment.
