Own the visual standard of viral marketing at MrBeast. This onsite role in New York, NY brings you into a high-output creative environment where you partner with a Copywriter as a core team, reporting to a Creative Director to develop and execute standout visual concepts across viral campaigns and content platforms.
In this Art Director role, you help define what audiences see first, shaping visual identities and design systems from early exploration through finished production. You will also leverage emerging creative technologies, including generative AI tools, to move faster while maintaining brand-aligned craft.
What you’ll do
- Partner directly with a Copywriter to develop and pitch concepts for different viral marketing verticals.
- Translate creative ideas into compelling visual identities, design systems, and final executions.
- Oversee and maintain high production standards across lighting, casting, wardrobe, and sets.
- Pitch and present visual concepts clearly to Creative Directors and senior leadership.
- Create visual explorations that help teams understand, evaluate, and communicate creative directions before production.
- Ensure all visual outputs meet the brand’s strict production and editing standards.
- Partner with Production and Post Production teams to translate design systems effectively into finished assets.
- Collaborate with external designers, illustrators, animators, agencies, and vendors when specialized creative support is needed.
- Direct the use of emerging creative technologies, including generative AI tools, to create rapid comps, establish visual direction, and streamline workflows.
What you bring
- Professional experience as an Art Director in entertainment, digital media, advertising, or fast-moving creative environments.
- A portfolio showing strong conceptual thinking, visual judgment, and art direction across multiple mediums.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.
- Strong proficiency in generative AI tools (such as Gemini and Midjourney), including advanced prompt engineering to direct and refine visual outputs.
- Strong attention to detail, balancing speed with high quality and craftsmanship across set design, lighting, and casting.
- A deep understanding of social media and YouTube visual language, including hierarchy and how content lands on platform.
- Experience collaborating closely with writers, Creative Directors, producers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong presentation and pitching skills, with the ability to explain the reasoning behind creative decisions.

Compensation and benefits
The base salary range is $118,000–$148,000 per year, with an annual target bonus and eligibility for the employee equity plan. Benefits include:

Role overview: The Art Director is a conceptual and visual leader within Viral Marketing, working alongside a Copywriter partner to bring visual concepts to life across owned properties, merchandise platforms, short-form content, and large-scale campaigns.
