Web Designer and Developer
Job Description
The University of Chicago seeks a Web Designer and Developer in Chicago, IL (hybrid) with a yearly salary range of USD 61,200 to 79,200 to support ESA communications and outreach, focusing on web and digital offerings for student career programs, Master’s programs, and college access initiatives like STARS.
Responsibilities
- Design and update ESA related websites with emphasis on student career programs, Master’s recruitment, and college access initiatives such as STARS.
- Maintain user interface and content across divisional sites to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and branding consistency.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Career Advancement and College Admissions to define project scope, source content, and align with institutional goals.
- Edit and organize visual assets, maintaining an organized library of photos and digital resources.
- Develop and curate content across platforms in line with institutional standards and messaging guidelines.
- Attend project meetings with leads and stakeholders; produce clear, actionable notes and follow up on tasks.
- Assist in coordinating programming and outreach activities for divisional initiatives.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to support successful execution.
- Contribute to defining outreach goals for ESA initiatives and support their refinement over time.
- Evaluate the relevance, feasibility, and impact of outreach efforts and projects.
- Support efforts to expand visibility and engagement with key audiences.
- Investigate and resolve day-to-day technical problems using standard procedures and escalation when needed.
- Support and maintain existing applications; collaborate with web developers and respond to user requests.
- Perform other related work as needed.
Requirements
- College or university degree in a related field.
- Less than two years of professional experience in a related discipline.
