Job Description

Illumination Works LLC is seeking a Remote User Interface (UI) Developer to help modernize a front-end application after a UI/UX redesign. The work focuses on building secure, responsive, and maintainable interfaces using Java and Angular, while also evolving legacy Oracle Forms user experiences for compatibility with approved libraries and infrastructure.

This role supports the delivery of government-approved designs and persona-based workflows, integrating UI components with backend services and REST APIs to retrieve, display, validate, and submit data. You will collaborate with UI/UX, data services, backend, QA, cybersecurity, and Government stakeholders across Agile development, testing, releases, and production support.

What you’ll do

  • Integrate front-end components with backend services and REST APIs to securely retrieve, display, validate, and submit data.
  • Work within existing authentication, authorization, role-based screen access, validation, and security architecture.
  • Modernize existing Oracle Forms-based user experiences while maintaining compatibility with approved libraries and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, data services developers, backend developers, QA engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and Government stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration testing; support regression testing, user acceptance testing, demonstrations, and bi-weekly software releases.
  • Use Git and modern source-control practices while participating in Agile software development, code reviews, backlog refinement, and release activities.
  • Create maintainable technical documentation and assist with resolution of defects, performance issues, and production support needs.

Required qualifications

  • Experience working within authentication, authorization, role-based screen access, validation, and security architecture.
  • Experience modernizing legacy enterprise user experiences, including Oracle Forms, while maintaining compatibility with existing functionality and approved libraries/infrastructure.
  • Experience collaborating across UI/UX, data services, backend development, QA, cybersecurity, and Government stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and execute unit and integration testing, and support regression testing, user acceptance testing, demonstrations, and bi-weekly releases.
  • Experience using Git and participating in Agile activities such as code reviews, backlog refinement, and release work.
