Staff Product Designer, New Bets

DoorDash is building consumer and enterprise experiences for workplace dining and company perks through the “Meals for Work” area under DoorDash for Business. In this Staff Product Design role, you will lead system design that helps the team move faster, operate more autonomously, and strengthen experimentation through tighter iteration loops. You will report to the Head of New Bets Design within the Consumer organization while shaping work that spans multiple teams and measurable business outcomes.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA (hybrid). The team works from a DoorDash office 1-2 times per week, with the remainder of the time working from home.

What you’ll do

• Define and frame projects by setting a clear point of view on what to build, using briefs that synthesize business and customer inputs into roadmap milestones.
• Bring structure to ambiguity by turning cross-team, unclear problems into actionable work that ships, and driving prioritization with explicit tradeoffs across design quality, speed, and impact.
• Shape key initiatives end to end from concept through execution, staying close enough to resolve issues during iteration, guiding design direction, and producing work that drives measurable outcomes across multiple teams.
• Raise craft standards by creating high-fidelity designs and production-ready prototypes that set a baseline for quality across the team.
• Design for shared productivity by spanning multiple workflows and contributing tools such as prompt libraries, component generators, and workflow automations to improve team throughput.
• Mentor on responsible AI and contribute reusable frameworks that can be adopted beyond your immediate team.
• Influence with evidence through trusted relationships across product teams, using live prototypes and evidence-based thinking to make recommendations concrete and steer roadmaps.
• Multiply capacity through mentorship, recruiting, and inclusive practices that raise the bar across the product group.
• Drive self-improvement and flex your approach to raise overall team outcomes.

What you bring

• A portfolio demonstrating craft excellence, systems thinking, and leadership through influence.
• Comfort reaching for code editors and LLM-powered tools alongside design tools, including prototyping in production and meaningful contributions to the codebase.
• Ability to influence, design, and build solutions that work across teams and workflows.
• A preference for clarifying ambiguity across multiple teams through shipped artifacts rather than slide decks.
