Job Description

Amazon is hiring a Senior Product Designer to lead the mobile-first, AI-native candidate experience for Amazon Connect Talent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for the mobile-first, AI-native candidate experience for Amazon Connect Talent
  • Co-own AI behavior with engineering and data science, including how the interview adapts, how uncertainty is surfaced, how the experience fails gracefully, and how calibrated trust is earned
  • Design for high-volume interviewing on candidates’ own devices, treating that environment as the primary constraint (not a responsive adaptation)
  • Build AI-coded prototypes to address open questions and drive alignment across teams
  • Define standards for when AI-generated work is acceptable versus when hand-craft is required, while raising the team’s AI fluency
  • Frame problems as much as solve them by surfacing risks others may not see and driving clarity while strategy is still forming
  • Establish interaction and visual standards that support longevity as the product grows, prioritizing durability over launch
  • Influence partner teams across product, engineering, and data science, acting as the designer leaders seek out for product decisions
  • Default to a recommendation approach: take a clear position, argue with data, and defend decisions to senior leadership
  • Prioritize ruthlessly by balancing short- and long-term customer needs and connecting design work to measurable results
  • Mentor designers to strengthen craft and expand AI fluency

Requirements

  • 7+ years of design experience
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience developing, deploying, and managing AI products at scale
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Experience designing for both mobile and desktop applications
  • Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers, or experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps
  • Experience designing and executing online customer experiences

Benefits

  • Health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance, option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave

About the Team

  • Design team for Connect Talent sits inside AWS Applied AI Solutions, covering products shipped but not yet mature
  • Work includes surfaces with live customers, real usage data, and design questions still open
