Job Description

Horizontal Talent is seeking a hands-on Senior Designer/Art Director to lead performance-driven marketing creative for lifecycle and paid channels. This onsite role in Seattle, WA focuses on taking campaigns from concept through delivery while working within established brand systems and contributing strategic creative direction.

Role Overview

In this position, you will design and direct marketing creative across email, paid digital, paid social, and social video formats. The work is intended to support engagement, conversion, and measurable campaign performance, with accuracy, quality, and responsiveness prioritized in a highly reviewed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, and execute lifecycle marketing creative for email campaigns tailored to specific audience segments.
  • Create high-performing paid digital assets, including display ads, paid social content, landing page support, and conversion-focused creative.
  • Collaborate on creative development from initial concept through final delivery, balancing hands-on design with broader art direction.
  • Work within existing brand guidelines and templates while identifying opportunities to strengthen the visual approach.
  • Provide strategic creative ideas that align with engagement, conversion, and campaign performance objectives.
  • Develop social video creative for paid placements, including formats suited for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and similar channels.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in an environment where accuracy, quality, and responsiveness are essential.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Senior Designer, Art Director, or in a comparable marketing creative role.
  • Strong background in lifecycle and email marketing design.
  • Proven experience producing paid digital creative across display, paid social, and landing page support.
  • Ability to develop performance-driven creative that supports engagement and conversion.
  • Experience working within brand systems, templates, and established creative guidelines.
  • Capability to balance conceptual development with hands-on production work.
  • Experience working in regulated or highly reviewed industries such as fintech, financial services, healthcare, insurance, or similar.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with UGC-style social video creative for paid social placements.
  • Motion design or animation experience.
  • Experience supporting performance marketing teams with iterative creative testing.
  • Ability to introduce fresh ideas while remaining aligned to brand and compliance requirements.
