Position Overview

The Senior Art Director will shape the visual direction and bring the creative strategy to life. You will own the overall look, feel and quality of assets created, including photoshoots, video production and storyboarding, and campaign development. This role supports the Director of Creative in building the creative vision across our partnered brands and leads internal team members and external agencies to ensure creative excellence, compelling storytelling and consistency. The Senior Art Director will elevate the in-house creative team, establishing a center of excellence that inspires diverse thinking, builds connections and fosters an innovative and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Creative Development
    • Collaborate with the Director of Creative to introduce new, innovative ideas for brand, digital and campaign work within the team and across the brand portfolio.
    • Work with cross functional teams and external agency partners to develop and execute integrated creative solutions across digital, experiential, branding and print.
    • Occasionally plan, build and participate in off site events that require travel, heavy lifting and active involvement to bring the brand experience to life.
    • Provide hands on creative execution and ownership of highly complex identity and creative projects while mentoring designers on their work.
    • Direct and collaborate with producers and photographers on lifestyle and product shoots, with a keen eye for brand aesthetic.
  • Leadership
    • Mentor and guide project teams including designers and freelancers.
    • Manage multiple creative projects, overseeing deadlines and coordinating work across project and support teams to optimize workflow.
    • Push for stronger, differentiated work that adheres to the brand and creative strategy and elevates the brand experience by setting the creative bar.
    • Maintain creative excellence while juggling many priorities with precise time management, ensuring both your work and your team’s deliverables meet deadlines without compromising quality.
    • Develop compelling creative pitches and present work confidently to stakeholders, external partners and cross-functional teams, articulating the strategic thinking behind decisions and how they support brand goals and measure success.
    • Challenge and sharpen the creative and visual strategy across stakeholders, thinking in systems such as campaigns and ecosystems rather than just tactical assets.
    • Influence cross functional partners with solutions rather than just outputs.
    • Partner with internal data and insights teams to generate performance measurements against creative solutions to continually drive growth and success of output.
  • Trend Awareness
    • Continuously stay informed about industry trends and new ways of working.
    • Research tools and programs that elevate the work and efficiency of the creative team.
    • Keep up to date with design and CPG trends to ensure our brands remain fresh and relevant.
  • Subject Matter Expert
    • Operate with high autonomy and at times with ambiguity.
    • Demonstrate strong and intuitive creative and visual thinking prioritizing scalability and consistency across outputs and brand touchpoints.
    • Maintain expert knowledge of industry standard programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
    • Apply design thinking and human centered methodologies to ensure people are kept at the heart of driving creative experiences.
  • Overseeing photo and video shoots and supporting video production in collaboration with the Director of Creative.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Communications, Multimedia Design or User Experience Design is preferred.
  • 10+ years of design experience are required; 3-5 years in CPG are preferred; agency experience is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing stakeholders through creative reviews, pitches and project timelines.
  • Proactive and hungry mindset, always looking to push the creative forward.
  • Master of visual storytelling with the ability to translate strategy into compelling design.
  • Passion for mentoring, with the ability to guide brand managers, designers and agency partners to stronger ideas and sharper execution.
  • Knowledge in photography and video is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge in AI tools is a plus.
  • High proficiency with industry standard programs is required.
  • Impressive portfolio demonstrating dynamic and strategic work is required.
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve, research and analyze information to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to travel up to 15 percent.

Hours, Location and Pay

We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This role works standard business hours Monday through Friday at our Little Chute, WI manufacturing facility.

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally operate business machines and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
