Job Description

In this role, you will design and integrate intuitive user experiences for data science, data engineering, and software solutions, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to support national security decision makers.

Location

Fayetteville, NC onsite

Responsibilities

  • Design and integrate intuitive user experiences for complex data science, data engineering, and software application solutions.
  • Engage in the full spectrum of the digital creative process, including user research, information architecture, wireframing, rapid prototyping, interface design, and front-end development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, analysts, and mission stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration between user interfaces and backend systems.
  • Support national security decision makers at the tip of the spear to help clients meet their mission.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with UI/UX design, integration, and optimization for data science, data engineering, and software applications.
  • Experience designing user interfaces, workflows, and visualizations for data-rich or operational systems.
  • Experience with system integration using protocols such as JSON, REST, and XML.
  • Proficiency with modern UI/UX design tools, including Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • Knowledge of DoW operation centers workflows and processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with operations customers and technical experts to optimize cross-functional solutions for user experience.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

The Opportunity

You know that a good technical solution is more than code, infrastructure, and a polished interface; it also addresses a user’s needs. As an experience designer, you will place yourself in the user’s shoes to craft the most effective engagement. We seek a creative and technically skilled professional to shape the ultimate user experience and enhance how the Department of War staff interact with their operation centers.

In this role, you will design and integrate intuitive user experiences for complex data science, data engineering, and software application solutions, participate in the full digital creative process, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between UI and backend systems. You will help our clients meet their mission by supporting national security decision makers at the tip of the spear.

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry integration or data platforms
  • Experience with design, deployment, and management of cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure
  • Experience using or migrating CI/CD pipeline solutions or tools, including GitLab
  • Experience developing or contributing to design systems and reusable UI components
  • Experience with front-end development frameworks, such as React, JavaScript, or TypeScript-based frameworks
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Master’s degree

Clearance

TS/SCI clearance is required; applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is USD 99,000.00 to USD 225,000.00 per year. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.

Identity Verification

You may be required to be on camera during interviews and assessments, and Booz Allen may take your picture to verify identity and prevent fraud.

Work Model

  • Remote: If listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at Booz Allen or a client facility.
  • Hybrid: Hybrid roles require frequent in-office work at a Booz Allen facility and may involve visiting client facilities.
  • Onsite: Onsite roles are performed primarily at a Booz Allen office or client facility, with direct collaboration as required.
