Senior Web Designer

TwoTone Creative is hiring a Senior Web Designer for a full-time, in-person role in West Des Moines, IA. In this position, you will shape UX and UI experiences, optimize digital assets for usability and usefulness, and deliver polished visual design across web pages and landing experiences.

You will work directly with a team that values clear communication with both clients and internal partners, using WordPress to build and launch high-performing pages with precision.

Role

• Design and optimize digital assets for usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design
• Create UX/UI solutions using wireframes, visual and graphic design, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
• Develop a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy for the brand and produce UI tools like navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets
• Build and launch web pages with precision, including work within WordPress themes (little to no code)
• Test UI elements including CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages

Responsibilities

• Handle website setup and provide ongoing technical support
• Continuously sharpen UX/UI expertise to stay ahead of trends
• Communicate clearly and proactively with team members and clients
• Generate creative ideas and deliver smart, strategic solutions
• Investigate user experience design requirements for a suite of digital assets
• Collaborate with copywriting, marketing, graphic design, and client experience teams to deliver tailored experiences for digital users
• Provide advice on implementing UX research methodologies and testing activities to analyze and predict user behavior
• Adhere to style standards on typography and graphic design

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in web design, web development, graphic design, or visual communications
• 3+ years of website design experience
• Demonstrated strengths in web design, project management, marketing, and communications
• Experience using WordPress
• Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment with strong interest in graphic design
• Comfortable working with conservative Christian churches and non-profits
• Online portfolio showing strong graphics and development skills
• Knowledge of current web design trends and techniques
• Ability to clearly and professionally communicate visual solutions to support marketing strategies and web initiatives
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with professionalism and good judgment
• Capacity to switch quickly between projects
• Adeptness with learning new apps and software
• Punctual and dependable
