Senior Product Designer, Consumer App
Job Description
Roblox is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape how people navigate and interact with the Roblox platform through its consumer app. Working onsite in San Mateo, CA, you will help define the interaction and UX strategy that connects mobile, desktop, console, TV, and XR into one coherent experience.
This role focuses on the app’s structure, the in-game UI and control ecosystem, and the shared system patterns players rely on across surfaces. You will partner closely with PM, engineering, data science, and research to frame problems, set direction, and validate decisions using research and A/B testing.
What you’ll do
- Shape the app’s structure by contributing to core architecture, navigation, and information architecture so Roblox remains one product across mobile, desktop, console, TV, and XR.
- Design for every input by defining interaction models for touch, mouse and keyboard, gamepad, and headset from the start.
- Define the system UI by setting UI architecture and interaction patterns across the app and in-game experience.
- Design core platform features by creating shared capabilities built once and working consistently everywhere.
- Drive UX strategy by framing problems, setting direction with PM and partners, and using research and A/B tests to determine what comes next.
- Influence across teams by aligning partner teams so their work fits the app, and presenting reasoning clearly to leadership.
- Prototype in context by using AI-assisted tools to test interactions on real devices and inputs and help the team work faster.
What you bring
- 8+ years in product design with shipped work spanning navigation, information architecture, or interaction models at platform scale.
- Strong design craft across visual and interaction design, with fluency in Figma (auto layout, variables, components).
- Proven UX strategy experience, including framing ambiguous problems, setting direction, and shipping with cross-functional partners.
- Cross-platform knowledge covering mobile, desktop, console, and XR environments.
- Advanced prototyping skills using Figma, Origami, ProtoPie, or code, plus hands-on use of AI tools to explore and prototype faster.
- Influence without authority across multiple teams, along with the judgment to advocate for better alternatives when needed.
- Exceptional communication, including the ability to tell a clear story, move stakeholders, and document systems precisely.
