Senior Product Designer

Shape user-focused product experiences as the primary designer for a cross-functional squad embedded at News Corp (Avail).

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Product Manager and engineers to act as the voice of the user, exploring multiple directions and delivering executable design outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders across research, product, engineering, product marketing, brand, and design on complex problems
• Work quickly with the team to deliver improvements that materially enhance the user experience across products supported by your squad
• Lead most of the design process end to end (from conception through completion), with oversight and assistance from senior design leaders
• Explain the value of design and the rationale behind design decisions to design leaders, peers, and your product squad
• Seek and incorporate design feedback with professionalism and patience, showing measurable growth in your craft
• Use the design system to ensure accurate, high-quality component application, while identifying opportunities for new patterns

Requirements

• 8+ years working in the design industry
• 3+ years working in a product-led organization
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Portfolio showing a growing design point of view and including:
  • Examples of interaction flows
  • Prototyping work
  • High-fidelity design
• Familiar with user-centric processes and design thinking principles
• Experience working on cross-disciplined teams
• Clear communication skills
• Informed, strong opinions held loosely
• Demonstrates a We, Not Me attitude
