Senior Brand Concept Art Director

Cella is an award-winning leader in consulting, staffing and managed solutions for creative, marketing, digital and proposal development teams. This hybrid contract opportunity is based in New York, New York, bringing together brand concept work across campaigns and video storytelling. You will help shape narrative and visual direction while partnering with marketers, designers, and external production teams to keep the brand voice consistent.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Set the artistic vision, tone, and visual language for full-scale brand campaigns and video content.
• Turn marketing goals into concept-driven narratives that connect with target audiences.
• Produce clear, dynamic, sequential storyboards and animatics to map video pacing, framing, and cinematic flow before production.
• Collaborate with marketers, designers, and external production teams to maintain a unified brand voice.
• Develop and design key visual assets such as mood boards, style frames, and campaign layouts, and guide video production workflows.
• Bring hands-on video editing skills (Premiere, After Effects) as a strong plus for rough-cut concepts and pitching ideas.

What you’ll need

• 5+ years of experience as an Art Director, Concept Artist, or Creative Lead within an agency or in-house brand team.
• A portfolio showing advanced visual storytelling and the ability to translate scripts or ideas into actionable storyboard frames.
• Strong command of industry-standard tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent, plus sketching and storyboarding software.
• Strong presentation and leadership skills, with the ability to pitch concepts clearly to stakeholders and clients.
• Working knowledge of video editing, motion design, and post-production pipelines.
• Experience working with CG production workflows and understanding the fundamentals of how CG production flows.

Compensation and contract details

This is a contract role with a hybrid schedule in New York, New York. Rate: USD 65 to 70 per hour.
