Product Designer / Finance

Join an early-stage AI fintech startup in New York, NY (onsite) as a founding Product Designer / Finance. You will work closely with founders and executive leadership, shaping the product experience for an AI-powered financial platform. This role combines meaningful ownership with hands-on partnership across Product, Engineering, and Leadership, helping build a scalable design system and the design culture from day one.

Responsibilities

• Own product design initiatives from early discovery through final implementation across the AI-powered platform
• Design intuitive workflows that simplify complex financial processes and improve the customer experience
• Create AI-centric user experiences that clearly communicate AI-generated insights while building customer trust
• Develop interaction patterns that encourage user feedback and continuously improve AI-driven product experiences
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams to define product strategy and prioritize customer needs
• Produce wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and production-ready design specifications
• Contribute to and evolve the company’s design system to ensure consistency and scalability across the platform
• Conduct user research, gather customer feedback, and iterate based on real-world usage and product analytics
• Balance long-term product vision with rapid iteration in a fast-paced startup environment
• Help establish the design culture, processes, and product philosophy as one of the company’s earliest design team members

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Product Design experience, with full ownership of a product or major feature from concept through launch
• Strong experience designing complex B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software products
• Track record creating product experiences that improve measurable outcomes such as engagement, activation, retention, or similar business metrics
• Experience using AI tools as part of your design workflow to support efficiency, ideation, and execution
• Strong foundation in UX design, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles
• Ability to simplify complex workflows and translate technical concepts into intuitive user experiences
• High proficiency with Figma, design systems, prototyping, and developer handoff
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams
