Product Designer
Job Description
RealPage is seeking a Product Designer to lead the user experience across the product development lifecycle, collaborating with product management and engineering to translate user needs into measurable design outcomes. This role is based in Richardson, Texas with remote work options.
Responsibilities
- Frame problems and solutions using personas and narrative storytelling to guide discovery.
- Derive requirements directly from customer pain points.
- Lead interviews with users, customers, and subject matter experts.
- Document knowledge, current workflows, and pain points gathered from interviews.
- Synthesize discovery findings to create a focused, actionable scope.
- Apply user centered design thinking to address product and user challenges.
- Capture the design solution's workflow and functional specifications for engineering.
- Propose a range of solutions that address the narrowed scope.
- Plan the sequencing of proposed enhancements to establish the product timeline.
- Define and monitor success metrics for proposed work.
- Drive momentum through the design lifecycle, including pilot planning and readiness for General Availability.
- Partner with product management to align on design outcomes and support discovery with guides and SME interviews.
- Collaborate with engineers and QA to communicate designed functionality and workflows for testing.
- Utilize the design standards system and provide feedback to evolve the design system with the Design Standards team.
- Work with UX researchers on continuous discovery efforts.
- Establish metrics to gauge adoption and validate solutions.
- Grow within the RP Product Design Center of Excellence curriculum and benefit from mentorship by senior designers.
Requirements
- Completion of UX coursework; degrees, certificates, bootcamps, or online courses accepted.
- Portfolio that tells human stories, defines and assesses user problems, showcases problem solving, presents design solutions with both low fidelity wireframes and high fidelity clickable prototypes, includes success metrics, and demonstrates release strategy for product enhancements.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in UX, design, architecture, or a related field.
- Clear demonstration of empathy for users.
- Experience with agile design and development practices and user centered design thinking.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration in cross functional teams.
- Facilitation skills to align product and development teams through strategy, discovery, and design.
- Ability to translate discovery findings into actionable design and development items.
- Comfort with sharing work across all stages and willingness to iterate through multiple rounds.
- Confidence communicating with executives and presenting design perspectives with strong communication, visuals, and public speaking.
- Healthy curiosity to lead experiments.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with clear documentation of statements, challenges, and solutions.
- Detail-oriented and capable of meeting established deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset and openness to ideas from diverse contributors.
