Job Description

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is establishing a pool of part-time and substitute Graphic Design instructors for in-person teaching in Arkansas.

Responsibilities

  • Apply core design principles across print, digital, and multimedia projects
  • Create and edit digital photography assets
  • Develop and design websites
  • Produce three dimensional animations for visual communication
  • Plan, produce, and edit video content
  • Craft page layouts for both print and digital media
  • Develop logos and corporate identity systems
  • Design and refine user experiences (UX) and user interfaces (UI)
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite software to complete design tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field is required

  • Design and refine user experiences (UX) and user interfaces (UI)
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite software to complete design tasks

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Graphic Design or a related field is preferred
  • Instructional experience at a community college or another post-secondary institution is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Proven teaching ability is a primary qualification
  • Proficiency with online learning platforms such as Canvas or Blackboard and delivering instruction online; familiarity with project-based, service-learning, or inquiry-based approaches is encouraged

  • Fine motor tasks such as keyboarding and handling small items
  • Sitting for extended periods
  • Standing and walking
  • Hearing and speaking
  • Repetitive motion
  • Close visual acuity for data preparation, transcription, screen viewing, extensive reading, and detailed inspection at close distances

Environmental Conditions

  • Moderate noise level in the typical work environment
